I would not be where I am today without this camp. As a child I was a wallflower, wanting to bloom but too nervous to try. My mom enrolled me in several drama camps, but none clicked. Then I found my place!
I really liked having no auditions. I was six and I wanted to be a princess AND a ninja! Mr. Miles wrote that part just for me, and I karate chopped my way through the play with the biggest smile on my face. I found the stage where I could be myself, silly and weird.
Now I run a PR firm in LA, giving speeches and making commercials. I can still hear Mr Miles telling me, “You can do it! Make it happen.”
Thank you, Theatre of the Imagination, for helping this drama nerd make it happen.
