Congratulations to Liberty! She has been awarded a scholarship from the Laura Hay Humphrey Foundation for Theatre of the Imagination acting classes for kids.
Liberty is a talented young woman who has found friends and a true sense of purpose through after school drama classes. Of all of the activities she has tried, she values drama above all else.
About being a performer, Laura said, “I love being on stage with my friends. It is where I am most happy”. Liberty is working hard for her latest show with our children’s drama classes in Overland Park. She has shown an incredible ability to memorize lines and bring a character to life.
Hats off to you, Liberty! We look forward to seeing you shine on the stage—big thanks to the Laura Hay Humphrey Foundation for their generous support.
The Laura Hay Humphrey Foundation honors the memory of a truly inspiring person who loved the arts. Laura Hay always sang and danced, growing up with the Ibsen Dance Studio. She sang with the Glee Club at her school and was in the choir and theater. She majored in music at Northwest Missouri State University and knew she wanted to spread her love for the performing arts to others.
After graduating, Laura worked at local hospitals, taught kids at the Gladstone Theater in the Park, and taught at Ibsen Dance Studio. Sadly, she and her husband Ryan’s lives were lost due to an accident.
The Laura Hay Humphrey Foundation was founded to honor Laura’s memory. Through their scholarships, they encourage young people to participate in the arts.
We are honored that the Laura Hay Humphrey Foundation has chosen us as their sponsors. In our drama classes near Overland Park and Kansas City, we try to follow in Laura Hay Humphrey’s footsteps by supporting young people in our community.
